As a senior business analyst, you will drive full-lifecycle initiative delivery across multiple project pods. Operating within a hybrid work model in Toronto, you will lead requirements elicitation sessions, conduct detailed AS-IS and TO-BE business process mapping, author technical specifications, and support testing activities within Mainframe and Agile environments. This position is ideal for a collaborative analysis authority with extensive Mainframe experience and strong Agile proficiency who can translate complex operational needs into scalable enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional pod members to elicit, analyze, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements.
Author and maintain comprehensive business analysis artifacts, including detailed business requirement documents, process flow diagrams, use cases, user stories, and technical specifications.
Lead interactive brainstorming and user story refinement sessions to ensure functional requirements align with business objectives and delivery frameworks.
Perform detailed business process analysis, mapping current-state workflows (AS-IS) and designing optimized future-state solutions (TO-BE) to improve operational efficiency.
Translate business needs into clear system specifications, collaborating with technology partners to build, test, and maintain full solution traceability.
Support quality assurance and testing efforts by verifying that test scenarios and execution results align with defined business requirements.
Act as the primary liaison between business leadership, technical delivery squads, and third-party vendors to address system requirements and technical solution design.
Support operational and business process analysis across multiple delivery pods to ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
Continuously enhance business domain expertise, staying current with technology trends, analytical tools, and enterprise application standards.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Technical BA Experience
Business Analysis Tenure: Minimum 5 to 7 years of dedicated experience as a Business Analyst driving enterprise software and systems projects.
Mainframe Environment Expertise: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience working within Mainframe systems and architecture.
Agile Methodology & Tooling: 5 to 7 years of experience in Agile delivery environments using Jira and Confluence for user story management, backlog grooming, and collaboration.
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): In-depth understanding of the complete SDLC, software development practices, and formal requirements management methodologies.
Process Modeling & Elicitation: Proven track record conducting JAD sessions, business process re-engineering, workflow mapping, and user story refinement.
Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology) or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Experience & Assets
Financial Services Context: Previous business analysis experience within a bank or financial institution is highly preferred.
Data Analytics & BI Tools: Experience with SQL, data analytics, and business intelligence reporting platforms is a strong asset.
Agile Certifications: Professional Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-PBA, or Certified Agile Practitioner) are considered nice to have.
Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Communication & Liaison: Superior verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical solutions clearly to both business leaders and engineering teams.
