Operating on a hybrid schedule out of Calgary, this long-term contract role plays a key function in bridging strategic change leadership with operational field engagement.
...
As a centerpiece of the program's communications team, you will act as a core thought partner to leadership, helping shape, author, and execute clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across multiple regions and operational levels—from corporate executives to front-line field operations. Because this is a time-sensitive client priority, qualified candidates are encouraged to apply promptly with their resume and a portfolio or work samples showcasing high-level communication strategy and content creation.
Advantages
High-Impact Initiative: Lead strategic communications for a complex, multi-jurisdictional digital transformation program.
Competitive Compensation: Target bill rate of $75.76/hour, with flexibility depending on candidate expertise.
Long-Term Stability: Initial contract runs to December 31, 2027, with an anticipated one-year extension.
Flexible Hybrid Model: Collaborative team environment in Calgary combined with regular work-from-home flexibility.
Creative Freedom: Opportunity to design innovative engagement strategies, roadshows, and campaigns across diverse operational audiences.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to program leadership, offering fresh perspectives, proactively identifying communication gaps, and building comprehensive messaging roadmaps.
End-to-End Content Creation: Author, refine, and review high-visibility communications, executive presentations, program updates, and functional change messaging using the MS Office suite.
Field & Operational Engagement: Tailor communication channels and tones specifically for operational/field personnel (such as regional technicians and site teams), ensuring messaging aligns with organizational culture and daily workflows.
Cross-Jurisdictional Alignment: Coordinate messaging strategies across three distinct geographic regions to maintain brand consistency and operational clarity.
Change Specialist Support: Collaborate closely with change management specialists to ensure change impacts are seamlessly integrated into wider program communications.
Multilingual Coordination: Utilize working knowledge of Spanish to support cross-border communications and reduce reliance on third-party translation resources.
Qualifications
Extensive background in internal communications, corporate communications, or change marketing, with a proven track record supporting large-scale, complex ERP or enterprise transformation projects.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, with specialized experience adapting messaging for corporate leadership versus operational/field workforces.
Proven versatility across diverse industries, with midstream energy or industrial sector experience strongly preferred.
Base working proficiency or full bilingualism in Spanish is highly advantageous to support regional operations.
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Willingness to deeply immerse oneself in company culture, operational nuances, and existing stakeholder communication dynamics.
Ability to travel occasionally for program alignment or regional roadshows, if required.
Summary
This contract role offers a communications professional the chance to take full ownership of messaging for a critical multi-year enterprise transformation.
