Job Summary
As an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer (P.Eng.), you will provide electrical and instrumentation engineering support across various projects. This includes everything from facility modifications and conceptual designs to equipment replacement and new capital projects. Responsibilities
- Design & Execution: Take electrical engineering tasks from concept to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Project Deliverables: Create and review engineering work packages (including single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and construction scopes).
- Technical Calculations: Perform equipment sizing, load studies, lighting design, hazardous area classifications, and cable sizing.
- Client & Team Collaboration: Work directly with clients to solve problems, support project budgets/schedules, and mentor junior engineers.
- Field Support: Travel to sites for project scoping, verification, and client meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensing: Registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA (Required). (Licensing in other provinces or a US PE is an asset).
- Technical Knowledge: Familiar with electrical codes (CSA, IEEE, API, ANSI, CEC) and power system software (ETAP, SKM, CYME).
- Experience: Background in industrial fieldwork, cost estimating, and project management/engineering is highly valued.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, independent problem-solving, attention to detail, and a client-first mindset.
