Responsibilities
- Ensure the local policies and procedures conform with all corporate policies and all industrial operations comply with provincial and federal regulation.
- Training key personnel on procedures and develop best practices pertaining to Environmental programs.
- Provide environmental guidance (air, water and waste) to other departments.
- Ensure that all the industrial operations are in compliance with corporate and government regulations.
- Support with environmental vendors as required for waste disposal.
- Participate in environmental audits and activities related to achieving and maintaining ISO 14001 certification.
- Participate in emergency response situations and ensure adequate plans are in place.
- Generate environment reports and develop documentation to be maintained after start up.
- Provide training related to environmental systems when necessary.
- Verify emissions calculations and play a supporting role in obtaining permits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or Environmental Sciences
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably 3 in manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and requirements.
- Experience working with environmental control equipment such as scrubber, filters, reverses osmosis is an asset
- Experience in translating emission rates and its impact.
- Good understanding of chemical processes and associated risks.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Suite.
- Knowledge of Power Bi and Share point on line is a plus
