Responsibilities
- Audit Delivery (end to end): Define audit scope and approach targeting critical and emerging technology risks, including cybersecurity, cloud services, data privacy, identity and access management, and artificial intelligence.
- Audit Execution: Lead, plan, scope, and execute complex IT internal audits, focusing on cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, IT governance, system development life cycle (SDLC), and third-party risk management.
- Risk Identification: Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and application controls, identifying gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration & Advisory: Partner with IT leaders and business stakeholders to discuss audit findings, provide pragmatic risk mitigation advice, and co-develop robust remediation plans.
- Executive Reporting: Develop clear, concise, and impactful audit findings detailing root causes and risk implications to prepare tailored, executive-level reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
- Framework Alignment: Ensure internal controls align with industry standards and regulatory expectations (e.g., COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, OSFI guidelines).
- Innovation & Modernization: Utilize modern risk and assurance techniques, such as data analytics and Generative AI, to improve risk sensing, precision, and testing coverage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field.
- Professional Experience: recent years of dedicated experience in IT Audit, IT Risk Management, or IT Security, ideally within the financial services sector or public sector.
- Framework Knowledge: Deep familiarity with IT control frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience applying datadriven techniques to risk assessment and assurance, including the use of analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, ACL/HighBond, IDEA, Python, SQL) to identify risk
trends, enhance testing coverage, and support evidencebased insights.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical risks into business-focused insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep practical knowledge of modern IT environments (cloud, identity, networks, endpoint security, and agile delivery).
- Certifications (Highly Asset): Hold one of or more industry-recognized certifications, such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or CIA.
