Responsibilities
- As a Senior Operations Manager, you will provide strategic direction to a team of 6-15 coordinators managing over 300 weekly shipments across national or global trade lanes.
- You will take ownership of high-volume ocean freight operations, including direct negotiations with steamship lines and managing foreign-to-foreign cargo movements.
- Your role involves overseeing complex temperature-controlled logistics, ensuring the integrity of the cold chain for diverse food commodities.
- You will act as a primary driver of operational efficiency, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehousing and intermodal drayage.
- In this Senior Operations Manager position, you will manage logistics budgets and RFQ processes while resolving vendor claims related to marine and inland transport.
Qualifications
- You possess more than 10 years of experience in logistics, with at least 5 years leading teams in high-volume food or frozen goods environments.
- Expertise in ocean freight, specifically with ocean reefers and steamship line negotiations, is a mandatory requirement for this Senior Operations Manager role.
- You hold a Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree or CSCP, CPIM, or CITT certifications are assets.
- Your technical skills include proficiency in MS Dynamics 365 and advanced Excel, alongside a proven ability to lead strong-willed, diverse teams.
- You demonstrate a bold leadership style, with the "backbone" necessary to advocate for process changes and navigate a fast-paced, transformative global landscape.
