Responsibilities
- Loading & Unloading: Safely unload incoming transport trucks and load outgoing trailers using manual material handling tools.
- Product Staging & Sorting: Carefully unpack, organize, sort, and inspect incoming greeting card displays and bulk stock against order sheets and manifests.
- Palletizing & Securing: Stack, palletize, and shrink-wrap product units securely to prepare goods for safe transit.
- Inventory Control: Conduct accurate unit counts and promptly report any damaged goods or stock discrepancies to line leads.
- Equipment & Safety: Comfortably operate manual pallet jacks and hand carts while adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Facility Upkeep: Keep loading zones, docks, and warehouse aisles clean, organized, and clear of hazards.
- Teamwork: Work alongside team leads, drivers, and logistics staff to ensure daily shipping targets are met on time.
Qualifications
- Physical Capability: Comfortable with physically active general labour duties, including standing, bending, stretching, and repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Safety Gear: Must own and wear CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots.
- Reliability: Punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining strong safety standards.
- Transportation: Dependable means of travel to consistently arrive for an 8:00 AM start in Brantford, ON.
- Communication & Detail: Good verbal and written English skills to read labels, safety signs, and order slips accurately.
- Asset: Prior background in freight handling, loading/unloading, inventory management, or general warehouse labour is a strong plus!
