Responsibilities
What You’ll Do (The Day-to-Day)
Mastermind Incident Recovery: Lead the charge during service disruptions. You’ll coordinate multi-party technical teams, drive immediate mitigations, and restore services quickly and safely.
Communicate with Impact: Translate technical chaos into clear, structured updates for regional stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned on impact, progress, and recovery plans.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-incident reviews to unearth root causes, build robust runbooks, and proactively eliminate recurring issues.
Guard the Environment: Participate in change reviews, flag potential risks, and support critical engineering events like role swaps, disaster recovery tests, patching, and evergreening.
Work Globally & Flexibly: Collaborate with diverse, cross-border virtual teams. Because global markets never sleep, you’ll occasionally support off-hours activities or adjust your shift schedule (e.g., mid-day starts) to align with critical maintenance windows.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed
The Must-Haves:
5–7 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development and/or production support.
Deep Mainframe Technical Core: Solid expertise in CICS, DB2, COBOL, MQ, TWS, and SPUFI.
Production Support DNA: A rock-solid understanding of IT infrastructure, service stability principles, and ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release management).
Cool Under Pressure: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a sharp instinct for when to escalate critical issues.
Elite Communication: Fluent English skills with the cultural awareness needed to collaborate seamlessly across global boundaries.
Tech-Forward Mindset: Familiarity with modern AI productivity tools like Copilot and Claude to optimize your workflows.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience within Corporate Banking (Payments domain exposure is a massive plus).
Exposure to Open Systems & databases: SQL, Java/J2EE, Unix, Oracle, and WebSphere.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability giants like AppDynamics, Splunk, or Geneos.
Network infrastructure knowledge or official ITIL Accreditation.
