A leading food processing and distribution facility in Edmonton is looking for a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Technician to join their team immediately. This role is a contract-to-permanent position covering an upcoming medical leave starting July 10th. For a motivated technician who proves their value, troubleshooting skills, and reliability, this role has a strong pathway to transition into a permanent, long-term career.

Responsibilities
At the end of the day, your main goal is simple: Keep the machines running smoothly.
Continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and fast-paced repairs to all on-site facility and production machinery.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance (PM) programs and complete work orders.
Oversee and coordinate specialized third-party maintenance contractors when required.
Ensure the maintenance shop and tools are kept clean and sanitized to meet strict Food Safety and HACCP compliance guidelines.
Monitor and basic troubleshooting of HVAC and warehouse equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Trade: Current 2nd or 3rd-year Apprentice Millwright OR a certified 4th Class Power Engineer.
Core Skillset: Strong mechanical aptitude and a "just fix it" attitude. Good working understanding of schematic drawings and instructions.
Environment Fit: Previous experience in a food production, manufacturing, or regulated processing facility is a massive asset. You must understand the importance of sanitation and food safety.
Equipment Familiarity: Direct experience working on rollstock machines, packaging lines, or specialized food processing equipment is highly desired.
Certifications: Forklift, pallet jack, or aerial scissor lift certifications are considered an asset.
