On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to join the Off Balance Sheet & Structured Entities department within the Enterprise Controllers’ Group. This position sits within a highly collaborative, tight-knit team of four operating under a flat structure.
In this role, you will serve as a key contributor providing accurate and timely financial information to shareholders, implementing process changes to drive structural efficiency, and maintaining an exceptional internal control environment. Responsibilities
•Financial Reporting & Analysis: Support the preparation of consolidated corporate reporting, financial statements (Report to Shareholders), and external financial disclosures.
•Data Management: Gather and consolidate financial information, conducting complex data analysis with large datasets for variance reports and performance metrics.
•Project Delivery: Lead the identification, proposal, implementation, and testing of reporting solutions for new financial initiatives and projects alongside accounting policy and IT subject matter experts.
•Governance & Compliance: Maintain internal control and governance frameworks (including key control activities for SOX or non-SOX processes) to sustain a strong risk-mindset environment.
•Technical Research: Research complex accounting guidance regarding technical accounting queries raised by internal stakeholders.
•Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster relationships and act as a center of knowledge with key partners, including Head Office Performance Management, IT, Group Risk Management, Tax, and Capital teams.
Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements:
•Education: Tertiary education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
•Designation: Active Accounting Certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent).
•Experience: 3+ years of professional experience with a firm understanding of key disclosure requirements and SOX compliance.
•Technical Systems: Proven experience working with complex ERP or accounting software alongside advanced proficiency in MS Excel (specifically for analyzing large datasets) and MS Word.
•Analytical Skills: Strong ability to think critically, challenge inconsistent data, handle high-pressure executive-level requests, and independently propose solutions.
•Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively document complex subject matter.
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
•Prior experience and understanding of complex banking transactions, associated risks, and returns.
•A proactive and persistent approach to issue resolution.
