Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Processing: Execute the full-cycle payroll process accurately, confidentially, and strictly on schedule.
Payroll Accounting: Prepare and post payroll journal entries, and manage Accounts Payable (A/P) related payroll tasks as required.
System Management: Utilize specialized payroll systems (specifically ADP) to enter, update, validate, and maintain payroll data.
Compliance & Reporting: Review and verify quarterly payroll tax reports for accuracy; support year-end payroll processing, including complex reconciliations and reporting.
Inquiry Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact to resolve employee payroll inquiries in a timely, professional manner, and troubleshoot ad hoc payroll discrepancies or data issues.
Collaboration: Partner closely with internal HR and Finance departments to ensure total payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Required Criteria:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of overall, hands-on full-cycle payroll experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or Business.
Certification: Active PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) certification is required.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience utilizing payroll systems (ADP preferred).
Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong documentation habits, robust time-management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Criteria:
Industry Background: Prior experience working within the Insurance or Finance sectors.
Geographic Scope: Experience working within a multi-province payroll environment, or UK payroll experience (highly preferred).
Advanced Accounting: Hands-on experience with quarterly payroll tax reporting, A/P processes, and year-end payroll cycles.
