Positioned within the COO division under Liquidity, Funding & Payments Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and risk mitigation of collateral movements and OTC derivatives processing. Responsibilities
As an Operations Analyst in Collateral Controls, your core responsibilities will include:
Collateral & Interest Management: Ensure daily collateral movements are captured accurately and on time. Confirm and process all month-end interest items in accordance with counterparty guidelines, completing reconciliations and escalating discrepancies as required.
System & Accounting Maintenance: Set up new accounts and Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) following Standing Orders (SO) and Global Payments Policy. Maintain accurate, up-to-date interest rates in internal systems and assist with monthly GL Attestation.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Adhere strictly to procedures and Standing Orders to eliminate errors. Escalate policy non-adherence immediately, and perform dedicated functions for IS Trust to ensure complete compliance with CASS rules for client money.
Continuous Improvement & Projects: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and boost productivity. Provide input and testing assistance on system and operational projects as required, and help update internal procedures.
Team Support: Act as a reliable backup to the Team Lead and other team members to support operational continuity.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial markets, banking operations, or financial accounting.
Technical Banking Knowledge: Proven expertise in SWIFT payment types, specifically MT103, MT202, MT202COV, and MT599.
Advanced Excel: Strong proficiency with data analysis tools, specifically VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
Professional Soft Skills: Highly accurate with an exceptional eye for detail. Proactive problem solver and effective communicator who builds strong, collaborative working relationships.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Industry Systems: Prior experience with specialized capital markets platforms such as RIMMS, iMatch, Acadia, or Colline, alongside standard confirmation and settlement processes.
Certifications: Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or progress toward the CFA designation is a strong asset.
