Responsibilities
As a Risk Rating Specialist, your duties will include but not be limited to:
•Working in a queue, spreading financial statements in risk rating model to generate BRR
•Using combination of GAAP, notes to financial statements, and overarching guidelines to correctly identify and input values from financial statements of privately held companies into the Risk Rating model.
•Generating a BRR (Borrower Risk Rating) calculation for each request based on inputs done using financial statements from variety of businesses
•Applying requested adjustments to financial statements and create a revised set of financial statements and BRR rating
•Understanding intercompany transactions and apply the elimination of same to combine financial statements from multiple companies
•Supporting Manager, Risk Rating in other duties as assigned
•Contributing to a positive and fun work environment
•Reading and understanding financial statements.
•Working independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Qualifications
•Read and understand financial statements (company prepared, notice to reader, review engagement, and audited).
•Keen attention to detail
•Working knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop software, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word.
•Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while ensuring work is of high quality
•Problem solving ability
•Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and inter-personal skills
•Work experience in accounting or finance
•Minimum post-secondary education, Commerce or Business Administration degree is a requirement, specialization in accounting or finance is preferred
