Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and align loads to ensure that deliveries are completed on schedule.
- Maximize the load factor for optimal revenue per load.
- Go to the dock to see the product and work with the dock supervisor to understand the freight.
- Prepare the dock sheets with loading instructions and details in a timely manner.
- Prepare and print information on drivers' routes
- Collaborate and coordinate scheduled assignments of drivers and equipment.
- Assist in preparing the necessary documents related to shipping schedules, customs, loading and provide them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain and establish a positive relationship with all drivers and other departments.
- Provide support to the service staff, if necessary
- All other necessary tasks
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years prior experience in the transport industry required
- Ability to identify and make constructive recommendations regarding operational improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently
- Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act, service hour logs, load safety and regulations required
- General experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Flexibility to cover other shifts as needed
