Upskilling Impact: Take visible ownership of an internal team's cloud-readiness strategy through active mentorship.
Central Metro Location: Enjoy a highly structured hybrid schedule out of a premier Toronto office footprint.
Responsibilities
1. Full-Cycle Technical Development (RICEFW)
Design, document, develop, and unit-test high-quality development objects using Eclipse ADT and SAPGUI, adhering strictly to SAP S/4HANA and ECC best practices.
Implement custom logic enhancements utilizing BAdIs, Customer Exits, BTEs, and both explicit and implicit enhancement spots.
Build sophisticated data outputs using SAP Adobe Forms and orchestrate complex business automation via SAP Workflow.
Deliver operational analytics solutions utilizing S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
2. Interface Engineering & Platform Integration
Design and implement secure integrations between SAP and external divisional systems using IDocs, OData services, REST APIs, and SOAP Webservices.
Develop modern backend entities using Gateway Service Builder (SEGW), Core Data Services (CDS), and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
Support front-end modernization initiatives through custom SAP Fiori application development using Business Application Studio (BAS).
3. Quality Assurance & System Governance
Establish and execute development standards by configuring and running the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) and SAP Code Inspector.
Conduct comprehensive code and QA reviews for deliverables produced by both internal teams and third-party System Integrators.
Lead defect investigation, profiling, and remediation workflows during intense project testing cycles, managing direct escalations with SAP support networks when necessary.
Design operational sustainment frameworks, embedding structural monitoring and standardized error-handling protocols into core workflows.
4. Mentorship, Coaching & Technical Release Management
Act as a technical mentor to junior developer resources, delivering knowledge-transfer presentations to upskill the team on modern tools (GitLab, BAS, Eclipse ADT).
Leverage change governance platforms including SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM), Jira, and HP Quality Center (HPQC) to manage the delivery pipeline.
Qualifications
Core Experience
10+ years of professional, hands-on experience in ABAP Development (including ABAP Objects and ABAP 7.4/7.5 advanced syntax).
Deep functional familiarity spanning core SAP modules: FI, CO, FM, GM, TRM, MM, and SD (RE, PM, and HCM experience are considered strong assets).
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Capabilities
Advanced proficiency in modern SAP architectures: CDS Views, OData provision, and SAP RAP.
Proven execution capability across cloud-ready tracking environments (GitLab, Cloud Integration iFlows, and SAP Application Interface Framework [AIF]).
Masterly control of standard project execution frameworks (Agile, Scrum, and classic Waterfall methodologies).
Assignment Deliverables
Documented Functional Specification review logs and technical gap feedback.
Production-ready Technical Specifications, Technical Unit Tests, and structural Run Procedures for all assigned objects.
Fully compiled and built custom code objects across target system environments.
Formal code review reports and automated QA review feedback logs utilizing ATC templates.
