Responsibilities
Architectural Modeling: Develop and maintain business architecture artifacts, including business functional models, service lifecycle models, and value chain analyses.
Strategic Alignment: Create program and service definitions aligned with organizational standards; maintain business capabilities and service integration models to ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
Research & Elicitation: Lead and conduct research planning, discovery sessions, focus group workshops, and interviews to elicit and synthesize complex business requirements.
Governance & Compliance: Represent the team through architectural governance points (AGP), ensuring all collateral aligns with the Target State Architecture (TSA) and security domains.
Transformation Planning: Jointly develop business transformation blueprints to promote a common understanding of strategic objectives and tactical demands across the organization.
Service Design: Design Service Integration and Accountability Models (SIAM) and support Digital Service standard phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) to ensure user-tested designs are technically feasible.
Integration: Ensure the Business Architecture Document aligns seamlessly with Solution Requirements (SRD) and Information Architecture (IAD) documents.
Agile Support: Develop and manage product backlogs, including the creation of Epics, Features, and User Stories within a DevOps-familiar environment.
Qualifications
Core Experience: 10+ years of total IT experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to Business Architecture on large, complex projects.
Methodological Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in BPMN, Value Chain Analysis, Business Function Modeling, and Service Modeling.
Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with the Zachman Framework and Enterprise Architecture framework standard practices.
Public Sector Expertise: Proven experience completing business architectures in government settings or similar complex, multi-client organizations.
Tools & Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Excel, Miro Boards, and Figma (for mock-ups).
Performance Metrics: Experience defining Business Outcomes, Performance Measures, and KPIs aligned with legislative and technology goals.
Communication: Exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and consensus-building skills with the ability to package complex material for executive presentations.
Nice to Have: Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Ontario Government architecture processes.
