Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties will encompass reviewing and posting daily bank transactions, processing customer credit memos, and investigating deduction discrepancies. On a weekly and biweekly basis, you will lead cash forecasting, perform detailed customer account reconciliations, process payroll journal entries, and monitor retail-specific EDI transactions to resolve any failed processing or pricing mismatches. You will also be responsible for executing a rigorous month-end close within a strict three-day window. This vital period entails preparing balance sheets, performing bank, rebate, and intercompany reconciliations, managing complex accruals, and preparing GST/HST and US tax returns. Furthermore, you will provide crucial support for annual financial audits, verifying tax filings and ensuring ongoing financial compliance.

To succeed in this position, you must possess robust expertise in full-cycle AR processes, accrual accounting, and financial reconciliations. You should bring hands-on experience utilizing major ERP accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, alongside advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex reporting and data validation. A solid understanding of navigating retail portals and EDI transactions is essential for managing our automated job queues and large transaction volumes. We are looking for an independent, highly organized professional with exceptional problem-solving abilities who can seamlessly meet tight recurring deadlines while maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external retail partners.
