In this role, you will play a key part in assessing the integrity and efficiency of internal controls, compliance, and financial information across the organization, with a specialized focus on the bank’s Treasury business line. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain enterprise-wide exposure to the bank’s core financial operations, economics, and risk landscapes within a supportive, high-performing 6-person team.
As a Senior Auditor, you will spend approximately 80% of your time executing hands-on audit work, risk analysis, and report writing, with about 20% dedicated to internal stakeholder meetings. You will evaluate compliance with key regulations and policies, analyze financial statements and transactions, identify control deficiencies, and work closely with internal business leaders to formulate actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities
•Audit Execution: Plan and perform comprehensive internal audits evaluating processes, controls, and compliance with financial regulations and policies.
•Financial & Risk Analysis: Analyze complex financial statements and transactions to ensure accuracy, evaluate risk exposure, and identify control deficiencies.
•Documentation & Reporting: Document clear, detailed audit findings and draft actionable, high-quality audit reports for senior internal stakeholders.
•Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner directly with internal business units to discuss audit findings, evaluate risk mitigations, and track recommendations.
•Compliance: Ensure all audit activities align with internal auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•Experience: 5 to 7 years of overall internal auditing experience within the financial services/banking sector.
•Certifications: Must hold or be actively pursuing a professional designation such as CPA, CFA, CIA, or MBA.
•Core Competencies:
o5+ years of hands-on internal audit execution.
o5+ years of deep knowledge regarding auditing standards, governance, and regulatory compliance.
o5+ years of proven attention to detail and meticulous audit documentation skills.
oExceptional written report writing and verbal communication skills.
Preferred / Ideal Profile:
•Direct internal audit experience within a Big 5 Canadian Bank, specifically covering the Treasury Department.
•Prior background in External Audit combined with strong internal audit credentials.
•Demonstrated interest and passion for internal controls, financial institutions, and treasury operations.
