Responsibilities
AI Agent & RAG Pipeline Engineering: Design and implement intelligent AI agents and RAG pipelines, constructing vector embeddings, indexing workflows, semantic search capabilities, and retrieval optimizations using Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) Development: Architect and deploy MCP servers to expose backend system functionalities and toolsets safely to AI clients and LLM agent frameworks.
Backend Microservices Development: Build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs supporting AI workloads using Java Spring Boot and Python.
Prompt Orchestration & Tool Calling: Develop prompt templates, agent orchestration workflows, tool selection strategies, and structured output patterns.
Data Integration & Interoperability: Integrate AI services with structured enterprise data repositories, health services directories, FHIR APIs (R4/R4B), SMART on FHIR launch contexts, and Master Data Management services.
AI Quality, Grounding & Evaluation: Implement rigorous evaluation frameworks to assess AI accuracy, eliminate hallucinations, validate response grounding, and ensure explainability against authoritative source records.
Security & Access Control: Enforce secure API access, role-based authorization, and enterprise authentication standards utilizing OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JWTs.
Governance, Monitoring & Telemetry: Build operational dashboards, logging frameworks, telemetry metrics, and AI governance documentation to support continuous system optimization and post-deployment sustainment.
Qualifications
Enterprise AI & RAG Seniority: Extensive senior software development experience designing, implementing, and deploying enterprise AI applications and RAG architectures using vector databases and semantic search (Strictly Required).
Model Context Protocol (MCP) & Agent Orchestration: Demonstrated experience developing AI agents and MCP servers, including prompt engineering, tool calling, and agent workflow orchestration (Strictly Required).
AWS Cloud AI Suite & Vector Search: Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and implementing vector search using OpenSearch (Strictly Required).
Java Spring Boot & Python Backend Development: Proven experience engineering Java Spring Boot and Python backend microservices supporting AI workloads (Strictly Required).
Healthcare Interoperability & Directory Experience: Direct experience implementing healthcare AI solutions using FHIR R4/R4B, SMART on FHIR, REST APIs, and health services/provider directories (Strictly Required).
