Responsibilities
Full-Stack Application Development: Design, build, test, and support responsive ReactJS frontend UI components and robust Java Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
SMART on FHIR & Clinical Context Handling: Implement and maintain SMART on FHIR launch flows, FHIR API interactions, clinical launch context handling, and secure authentication mechanisms (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT).
Hospital Information System (HIS) Integration: Develop and maintain integrations connecting full-stack application services with core HIS platforms such as MEDITECH, Epic, and Cerner.
Mirth Integration Engine & Message Routing: Design, build, test, and troubleshoot HL7v2 and FHIR message transformations, routing rules, validations, error queues, and reconciliation flows using Mirth.
Workflow & Scheduling Engineering: Integrate scheduling, encounter, provider, patient, and clinical workflows across web applications and underlying data stores.
Legacy System Modernization: Build modern, standards-based, and maintainable software components to support the retirement and replacement of legacy application infrastructure.
Quality Assurance & Testing Support: Partner with QA resources to execute integration testing, interface validation, regression testing, defect fixes, and release readiness activities.
Technical Documentation & Governance: Author comprehensive technical designs, API specs, interface guidelines, data mapping documents, deployment notes, and operational support materials.
Qualifications
Hospital Information System (HIS) Integrations: 5+ years of hands-on experience integrating application systems with HIS platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or MEDITECH (Strictly Required).
Interoperability & Standards Specialist: Deep specialist experience with SMART on FHIR, FHIR APIs, HL7v2, clinical launch context, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and secure application integrations (Strictly Required).
Mirth Integration Engine Depth: Hands-on experience with Mirth integration engine for HL7v2 message routing, transformations, validations, and production troubleshooting (Strictly Required).
ReactJS Frontend Proficiency: Strong hands-on ReactJS development experience building complex production web application interfaces (Strictly Required).
Java & Spring Boot Backend Mastery: Strong experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and backend integration components using Java and Spring Boot (Strictly Required).
Workflow & Security Architecture: Experience with clinical scheduling, encounter workflows, patient/provider context handling, audit logging, and building secure, scalable healthcare components (Strictly Required).
Public Sector Expertise: Prior experience delivering software development and integration within public sector environments (Strictly Required).
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Experience with healthcare referral platforms (e.g., Ocean, Novari) or provider directory integrations.
Familiarity with vendor-specific integration portals (e.g., Epic App Orchard, MEDITECH APIs).
Practical experience working with core FHIR R4/R5 resources (Patient, Practitioner, Encounter, Appointment, Schedule, Slot).
