Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Blueprinting: Map, document, and design "as-is" state architectures, translating them into robust target solution blueprints using MS Visio.
Technical Reviews & Assessments: Lead highly complex technical reviews, infrastructure assessments, and system audits to align upcoming migrations with overall enterprise priorities.
Governance & Compliance Documentation: Author and complete all required corporate architecture deliverables to satisfy standard enterprise governance gating points and framework requirements (such as the Zachman Framework).
Migration Strategy Execution: Architect transition pathways to move application databases off legacy Unix/Solaris systems and onto modern, supported hardware and cloud infrastructure, overseeing Oracle database upgrades where applicable.
Infrastructure & Networking Guidance: Define detailed technical infrastructure requirements—including network topologies, security constraints, and storage paths—for delivery teams.
Vendor & Service Specification: Develop precise technical architecture specifications, deployment guides, and maintenance playbooks for vendors and internal service providers.
Technical Team Leadership: Work closely with technical specialists, database administrators, and application owners to ensure all provisioning activities align directly with approved design blueprints.
Qualifications
Enterprise Architecture Seniority: 10+ years of progressive experience in technical information architecture, infrastructure design, and solution modeling.
Public Sector Framework Prowess: Proven experience designing and documenting architectures within large-scale public sector enterprise environments (Strictly Required).
Visual Blueprinting Mastery: Hands-on expertise designing "as-is" systems and creating comprehensive solution architecture blueprints utilizing MS Visio (Strictly Required).
Infrastructure Migration & Database Depth: Demonstrated technical background leading complex, multi-component migration projects (specifically moving legacy OS/database tiers over to modern supported infrastructure) (Strictly Required).
Governance Gating Literacy: Solid track record of authoring corporate architecture documentation to successfully pass formal technology gating reviews (Strictly Required).
Hosting Environment Expertise: Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of both on-premise data centers and modern cloud hosting platforms, including database software (Oracle), security gateways, and networking requirements.
Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical, decision-making, and consultative communication skills, with a proven ability to guide cross-functional technical specialists.
