Responsibilities
Personnel Leadership & Mentorship: Direct, educate, mentor, and assess warehouse staff to maximize operational efficiency and foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Logistics & Inventory Control: Mastermind the entire lifecycle of shipping, receiving, and distribution. You will rigorously manage inventory accuracy via routine physical audits and guarantee the facility remains organized and pristine.
Uncompromising Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Act as the ultimate authority on site safety, ensuring every protocol aligns perfectly with corporate mandates, provincial labor laws, and federal material handling legislation.
Fiscal Management & Profitability: Take charge of the financial health of the unit. This includes drafting robust annual budgets, curbing unnecessary expenditures, aggressively pursuing income targets, and skillfully negotiating favorable terms with clients and suppliers.
Client & Supplier Ecosystem: Elevate the customer experience by instituting rigorous Quality Management systems and tracking crucial KPIs. You will also manage supplier performance metrics, troubleshoot logistical hiccups, and collaborate face-to-face with clients to build custom service solutions.
Administrative Oversight: Seamlessly execute vital back-office duties, ensuring payroll processing, internal auditing, and comprehensive corporate reporting are completed accurately and punctually.
Qualifications
Professional Background: A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience operating strictly within a high-volume warehousing or distribution setting, demonstrating clear success in unifying cross-functional departments.
Credentials & Training: You hold a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, alongside active Forklift and WHMIS certifications, plus a valid Class 5 driver's license. (Possessing a valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods / TDG certificate will bump you to the top of the pile).
System & Equipment Proficiency: You are highly literate in the MS Office suite, AS400 platforms, and modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). You also possess the practical, hands-on capability to safely operate heavy machinery, including pallet jacks, cargo vans, and various forklifts.
Strategic & Operational Mastery: You boast a documented history of drafting and implementing highly effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reinforced by an exhaustive knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
