Stainless Steel Welder (FCAW / CWB) – Urgent Contract
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Start Date: Mid-August (Duration: 14 to 16 consecutive days)
Hiring Deadline: Roles finalized by August 10th or 11th
Schedule: 12-hour daily shifts (Day or Night Crew split)
Wage Structure:
- Journeyperson: $40.00/hr

- 3rd-Year Apprentice: $36.00/hr (90% of Journeyperson rate)
- 2nd-Year Apprentice: $30.00/hr (75% of Journeyperson rate)
- Night Shift Bonus: An additional $3.00/hr applied to all hours worked on the night shift.
About the Role:
We are actively seeking six highly capable Journeyperson Welders and 2nd/3rd-Year Apprentices for an urgent, high-volume fabrication assignment based in Fort Saskatchewan, kicking off this mid-August. This is a demanding, fast-paced contract requiring 14 to 16 continuous days of 12-hour shifts, with the team evenly distributed across days and nights. Although this specific gig concludes with a scheduled layoff, top-tier workers who demonstrate outstanding craftsmanship and dependability will become prime candidates for permanent, long-term positions within our organization moving forward.

Responsibilities
Execute top-tier structural and component welds within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing shop setting.
Apply Stainless Steel FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques flawlessly to meet rigorous project specifications.
Operate effectively in both flat and horizontal welding positions based on the daily production requirements.
Strictly follow established welding procedures, meticulous quality assurance protocols, and detailed material tracking systems.
Function as a key team player in a 24/7 split-shift setup (three welders on days, three on nights) to guarantee continuous, safe workflow.
Champion workplace safety by actively adhering to all site regulations, completing hazard assessments, and keeping your station immaculate.
Qualifications
Certifications: You must possess an active, valid CWB Ticket for Stainless Steel FCAW (At a bare minimum, flat and horizontal positions are required).
Trade Status: We are welcoming applications from 2nd-Year Apprentices, 3rd-Year Apprentices, and Certified Journeypersons (Please note: 3rd-Years and Journeypersons are strongly preferred).
Schedule Commitment: You absolutely must be available to work 12 hours a day for the full 14 to 16 consecutive days of the contract without interruption.
Location: Candidates need to reside in or near Fort Saskatchewan and possess dependable transportation for their daily commute, as no LOA or camp accommodations are offered for this project.
Professional Attributes: Bring an unrelenting work ethic, meticulous precision under tight deadlines, and a documented history of putting safety first.
