Responsibilities
Execute high-quality, multi-pass welds on heavy structural carbon steel components, including large-scale columns, commercial beams, and custom fabrications.
Ensure all welds strictly comply with engineered drawings, CWB codes, and rigorous internal quality assurance standards.
Operate advanced welding machinery alongside traditional manual equipment (comprehensive training provided for any robotic welding technologies).
Coordinate seamlessly with Fitters, overhead crane operators, and shop supervisors to ensure massive structural pieces move safely and efficiently down the production line.
Strictly adhere to all shop safety protocols, maintaining a clean workspace and participating in risk-elimination strategies.
Qualifications
Mandatory: Valid CWB FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) tickets covering all positions.
Experience Level: Seasoned Journeypersons are highly preferred, though we strongly encourage driven 2nd and 3rd-year apprentices to apply.
Proven experience working in a heavy structural steel, commercial fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environment.
A strong work ethic, exceptional punctuality, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
