Responsibilities
Your primary objective will be to drive the sustainability and health & safety strategy, policies, and standards across Canada. As a true thought leader, you will advise and support functional teams to ensure seamless execution. You will ensure our group safeguards its corporate reputation, its license to operate, and is recognized as an ESG pioneer within the consumer goods industry.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Green Projects
Drive ESG Ambition: Boost performance across the country in alignment with our corporate ambition and global commitments.
Catalyze Innovative Projects: Oversee the green fleet transition, lead waste and water management initiatives, and optimize road safety.
Build Compelling Business Cases: Prepare strong business cases for initiatives aimed at reducing our environmental footprint, costs, and operational risks (e.g., Extended Producer Responsibility, take-back programs).
2. Governance, Compliance & Analytical Rigor
Guardian of ISO Standards: Ensure the implementation of rigorous EHS management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001), including document control, version tracking, and audit readiness.
Data Master: Manage the governance of environmental and health & safety data (GHG protocols, group standards) and coordinate monthly reporting in the CR360 platform.
Performance Analysis: Generate monthly analytical reports highlighting trends, performance against targets, anomalies, risks, and progress against trajectories.
3. Partnership, Engagement & Risk Management
Single Point of Contact (SPOC): Represent Canada on regional and global workstreams (particularly climate change) to share best practices and align with global strategy.
Operations & Contractor Management: Serve as the primary contact for facilities management, manage the functional ESG budget (purchase orders, accruals, variance tracking), and ensure contractor compliance, risk assessments, and emergency drills meet legal and internal requirements.
Culture & Training: Drive internal capability building by managing EHS training systems (ensuring tracking and compliance) and designing dynamic digital ESG engagement campaigns.
Qualifications

Your Technical Strengths & Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or operations-related role, including hands-on Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS / SSE) responsibilities within a multinational company (FMCG experience is a plus).
Education: University degree, preferably in sciences.
Major Asset: An EHS certification is highly valued.
Systems Mastery: Strong data management skills (experience with CR360 is a plus) and excellent knowledge of GHG protocols.
