In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and engineering of network and telecommunications systems utilized across Our Client’s industrial field facilities. This position bridges the gap between physical infrastructure planning and logical network architecture. Because the vast majority of these projects are heavily schedule-driven, you will maintain a high degree of quality assurance to minimize safety, operational, and financial risks, ensuring all infrastructure is robust, secure, and cost-effective.
...
Advantages
End-to-End Project Scope: Own the full deployment lifecycle, moving seamlessly from initial requirements gathering to design and remote commissioning.
Critical Infrastructure Impact: Directly influence the reliability and safety of Corporate, SCADA, and Control System networks.
Mentorship & Collaboration: Work within a balanced team environment featuring a diverse mix of junior and senior engineering talent.
Safety & Excellence Focused: Play a vital role in mitigating corporate risk and maintaining compliance in high-stakes industrial environments.
Responsibilities
1. Physical & Logical Network Design
Design and commission telecommunication networks systems and physical telecom infrastructure, explicitly managing elements like rack space, power allocation, and cabling layouts.
Analyze requirements for TCP/IP-based network and telecommunications systems at industrial field facilities.
Generate comprehensive, cost-effective engineering designs tailored for Corporate, SCADA, and Control System networks.
2. Project Execution & Commissioning
Actively manage projects from the conceptual design phase through to successful remote commissioning.
Translate complex business and operational requirements into technical designs that fully align with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance processes to complete projects on schedule and eliminate safety or financial risks.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with various cross-functional groups to assess system needs and scope future enhancements.
Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills when interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership and foster a cohesive, collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
Core Experience
Proven experience working with physical engineering design elements (specifically rack space, power budgeting, and cable management).
Extensive experience and deep familiarity with the concepts, practices, and procedures involved in engineering designs for industrial field facilities.
Strong background in managing the network deployment lifecycle from design to remote commissioning.
Technical Skills Required
Deep understanding of TCP/IP-based network architecture and telecommunications systems.
Capability to design segmented, secure networks (Corporate vs. SCADA/Control Systems).
Preferred Skills & Assets (Nice to Have)
Previous hands-on experience working directly in the field at industrial facilities.
Technical knowledge of RS-232 serial protocols.
Basic understanding of industrial control system end devices, such as RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs.
Ways of Working
Risk Minimization Mindset: A strong commitment to quality assurance and safety.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive under general supervision in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
Exceptional Communication: Clear articulation of technical concepts and a strong focus on customer service.
Summary
