Responsibilities
Shoot 100% X-Ray: Execute flawless, strictly code-compliant B-Pressure welds across a diverse range of complex carbon steel and specialized alloy piping configurations.
Blueprint Execution: Decipher and fabricate directly from intricate isometric drawings, detailed spool layout sheets, and complex engineering blueprints without needing someone to hold your hand.
Quality & Traceability: Diligently manage your weld tracking logs, heat numbers, and essential QA/QC paperwork to guarantee absolute material accountability.
Code Compliance: Fabricate strictly according to rigid ASME and CWB specifications, ensuring every single joint meets uncompromising customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with skilled pipefitters, riggers, and quality control inspectors to maintain a seamless, highly productive shop workflow.
Qualifications
Valid Certification: You must possess an active, fully valid Alberta B-Pressure Ticket to legally step onto the floor.
Process Mastery: We need heavy-hitters with advanced, provable proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, and MCAW. (If you hold active TIG/GTAW tickets as well, you go straight to the top of the pile).
Proven Pipe Experience: You need a strong resume showing documented history welding code-quality pipe in a heavy industrial or large-scale manufacturing shop setting.
Test Ready: Be fully prepared to walk in and crush a rigorous pre-employment shop weld test (expect a 6-inch Schedule 80 carbon pipe challenge right away).
Fully Equipped: You must have reliable personal transportation to comfortably commute to Nisku, plus your own standard welding PPE (helmet, gloves, etc.).
