In this dual-capability role, you will combine the core responsibilities of a Scrum Master with essential Project Management discipline. Serving as the primary liaison between technical squads and business leaders, you will lead Scrum ceremonies across multiple teams in parallel, remove operational blockers, and ensure all deliverables adhere to Delivery Management Office (DMO) best practices. Operating across business, architecture, infrastructure, security, and offshore development partners, you will manage project schedules, track team velocity metrics, and foster a culture of continuous delivery improvement.
Duration: 4-Month Contract (with potential for extension)
Location & Travel: Toronto, ON (Office-based setting with occasional travel to the Toronto Support Centre as needed)

Responsibilities
Scrum Facilitation & Continuous Improvement
Ceremony Leadership: Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies across multiple teams (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews/Demos, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinements) ensuring adherence to timeboxes and Agile principles.
Impediment Removal: Proactively identify, track, and eliminate team blockers by coordinating across cross-functional groups, including Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, DBAs, and Offshore teams.
Agile Coaching & Performance: Help teams understand Scrum theory, rules, and values; track team velocity and metrics to drive continuous performance improvements sprint-over-sprint.
Project Management & Stakeholder Alignment
Delivery & Schedule Governance: Develop comprehensive project plans, establish critical milestones, assess delivery risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time execution.
Backlog & Requirements Support: Assist Product Owners in refining, clarifying, and prioritizing product backlog items while ensuring effective communication between business and technology partners.
DMO Compliance & Reporting: Maintain required project artifacts in accordance with DMO governance standards; report key metrics (velocity, progress, risks, and issue logs) to executive leadership and the Agile DMO Group.
Deployment & Operational Support: Support occasional off-hours or weekend releases as required during major project deployment windows.
Qualifications
Professional Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience operating as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) with prior project management or team lead experience.
Agile Mastery: Expert knowledge of Agile Principles, Scrum, and Kanban delivery frameworks.
Tooling Proficiency: Hands-on proficiency with Agile management and collaboration tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
Stakeholder & Leadership Skills: Exceptional servant leadership, facilitation, negotiation, and written/verbal communication skills; proven ability to build trust across distributed business and technology teams.
Work Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work in an office setting (with camera-on virtual meetings) and support occasional overnight/weekend deployment windows as needed.
Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Prior project management or Scrum Master experience within the Retail Industry.
Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or advanced Agile credentials (A-CSM, PSM II, PMI-ACP).
