This critical, hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the successful, on-time delivery of technology projects within an Agile framework. The position uniquely combines the standard, servant-leader responsibilities of a Scrum Master with structured project management governance. As the primary liaison across matrixed delivery squads, you will ensure all deliverables adhere to Delivery Management Office (DMO) best practices and quality standards while building strong cross-functional relationships to optimize delivery velocity.
Duration: 3 months.
Conversion Potential: High potential to convert to a permanent full-time position within 3–5 months, based on team adoption and progress.
Location: Hybrid (Greater Toronto Area/GTA based, with a requirement to work from the Toronto office once a month, scaling up to once a week depending on project requirements).

Responsibilities
Scrum Facilitation & Core Agile Execution
Lead and facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews/Demos, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinements), ensuring they stay highly effective and tightly timeboxed.
Work dynamically with multiple parallel delivery teams to remove complex technical or operational impediments and help them achieve sprint goals.
Partner closely with Product Owners to assist in backlog management, clarify item requirements, and streamline team communications.
Monitor team performance data, observe factors impacting delivery, and implement active continuous improvement changes.
Project Management & Delivery Governance
Develop comprehensive project plans, establish delivery milestones, map out cross-functional dependencies, and manage deadlines across teams.
Monitor project progress, perform active risk assessments, build out robust mitigation strategies, and adjust schedules dynamically.
Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring deep alignment with business strategy and compliance with quality metrics.
Maintain all required artifacts and documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle in accordance with standard corporate DMO guidelines.
Stakeholder Management & Enterprise Leadership
Support and facilitate seamless interactions among delivery squads and enterprise specialized teams, including Change Management, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Offshore Support groups.
Deliver high-impact status updates regarding key metrics (velocity, progress, risks, and blocker issues) to keep technical and business stakeholders aligned.
Help teams understand and adopt the underlying values, rules, and practices of the Scrum framework.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience working as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent) within an enterprise infrastructure.
Project Management Hybridity: Proven prior experience acting in a Lead, Project Manager, or Program Management capacity, handling timelines, budgets, and project governance tools.
Retail Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working within the Retail or E-commerce sector (especially within core retail systems like Merchandising or Pricing) is considered a strong asset.
Agile Tool Mastery: Highly knowledgeable and fluent in utilizing Jira, Confluence, and adjacent Agile metric tracking and dashboard tools.
Methodological Expertise: Expert knowledge of Agile principles, Kanban workflows, and standard Scrum frameworks.
Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. A self-motivated worker who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to ambiguity.
