SAP-UDF Functional Configurator

In this specialized contract role, you will act as a key functional resource responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing backend systems related to transportation network planning, retail demand forecasting, and last-mile delivery solutions. Operating within a fast-paced Agile ecosystem, you will translate complex retail logistics and data workflows into robust technical system behaviors. Responsibilities
Functional Configuration & Solution Design: Lead the functional configuration and end-to-end unit testing standards for SAP S/4 HANA logistics environments.

Process Optimization Analysis: Evaluate and document current-state business and technical workflows related to shipment routing, last-mile delivery execution, and predictive stock positioning to implement system-driven efficiencies.

Specification Engineering: Write, review, and refine granular functional specification documents (FSDs) to guide technical developer teams and configuration engineers.

Data Integration & Mapping: Manage and configure master data parameters, execution logic, and interface mappings leveraging modern SAP integration frameworks.

Agile Scrum Participation: Support Agile delivery frameworks by actively participating in daily stand-ups, backlog refinement sessions, and risk mitigation triages.

Leadership Alignment: Translate technical platform constraints and solution dependencies into concise status updates, clearly communicating progress and findings to senior leadership.



Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of progressive professional experience operating as an SAP Functional Consultant, Configurator, or Technical Business Analyst within enterprise logistics or retail supply chain domains.

Core SAP S/4 Configuration Depth: Proven hands-on configuration experience with SAP Transportation Management (TM) on S/4 HANA (Version 1809 or greater) or structurally related forecasting/logistics modules.

Implementation Portfolio: Practical, referenceable experience supporting large-scale enterprise deployments of SAP logistics or inventory optimization software (ideally S/4 HANA environments).

Technical Framework Literacy: Strong working knowledge of SAP TM Optimizer, EWM, planning algorithms, execution criteria, master data frameworks, and enterprise system integration layers.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent technical or quantitative discipline.

Soft Skills: Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills, with a proven capacity to build strong relationships across engineering teams, address project risks, and document complex system rules clearly.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Practical exposure or configuration familiarity with SAP TM 9.x legacy systems.

Experience integrating internal or 3rd-party last-mile delivery solutions and carrier platforms.

A vocational background or foundational exposure working within physical transportation hubs, warehouse environments, or retail distribution operations.
