Operating within a sophisticated framework, you will act as the departmental Subject Matter Expert (SME), liaising across multiple lines of defense (1B, 2nd, and 3rd lines) to ensure a robust risk posture. This position is ideal for an analytical, proactive leader who excels at translating complex risk concepts into actionable strategies across diverse business areas.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 3 days in office)

Responsibilities
•Governance & Oversight: Provide strategic oversight of the CRE controls and monitoring program to ensure a resilient risk mitigation posture.
•Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with 1B, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense to align compliance mandates and facilitate communication with various service lines.
•Risk & Control Documentation: Manage, maintain, and update critical risk documentation, including control libraries, risk libraries, and operational playbooks.
•Regulatory & Operational Tracking: Oversee the CRE Regulatory Compliance Program (2nd line of defense model) to monitor and report on regulatory compliance for all designated corporate locations.
•Audit & Risk Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Internal Audit (IA) during quarterly continuous monitoring exercises, and coordinate with Operational Risk teams regarding self-identified issues, emerging threats, and ongoing assessments.
•Process Improvement: Identify global risk and control optimization opportunities; develop, implement, and track action plans alongside service partners to resolve audit and compliance gaps.
•Training & Facilitation: Lead compliance-related meetings and design/deliver training programs to CRE Service Area Leads and external Service Partners to ensure adherence to global frameworks.
Qualifications
Must-Have Criteria:
•Experience: 7 to 10 years of professional experience within an audit, risk, or compliance environment.
•Education/Designation: Background in Audit or Risk Management, with a professional designation such as a CPA highly preferred.
•Technical Proficiency: Strong command of MS Office tools.
•Communication & Facilitation: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex, technical risk subjects into clear insights for non-SME stakeholders.
•Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, change management skills, and a demonstrated ability to impact and influence cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have Criteria:
•Prior experience or a detailed understanding of Corporate Real Estate (CRE) structures and operations.
•Demonstrated familiarity with Enterprise risk standards, methodologies, and internal audit requirements.
