Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for enterprise data platforms.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing across complex software solutions.
Validate data engineering activities to ensure data quality, transformation accuracy, schema integrity, and optimal database performance.
Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries for backend data analysis and verification.
Identify, document, isolate, and track software defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps, driving issues through full resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including developers, business analysts, architects, and project leads—to understand requirements and ensure software quality standards are met.
Support test automation strategies and scripting using tools like Python, PyTest, or Selenium within CI/CD pipelines.
Produce clear and concise technical documentation, test execution coverage metrics, and summary reports for project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Quality Assurance Seniority: 10+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance and software system testing across complex enterprise applications (Strictly Required).
Data Management & Relational Databases: 5+ years of experience in data management, including designing, developing, or maintaining relational database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL) (Strictly Required).
Advanced SQL Proficiency: Demonstrated expert-level ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation, data analysis, and backend database testing (Strictly Required).
Public Sector Experience: 5+ years of experience working in federal, provincial, or broader public-sector software development, testing, or operations environments (Strictly Required).
Testing Methodologies & Defect Tracking: In-depth knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and practical experience managing defect lifecycles using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Hands-on experience with Python for test automation, scripting, and data validation (e.g., PyTest).
Practical experience conducting API testing (Postman, SoapUI) or performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).
