Job Description
As a Tax Associate – Regulatory Client Outreach, you will join the Client Services and Data Management (CS&DM) team during a critical 6-month regulatory remediation project. Your primary mission will be to lead client outreach campaigns to collect, validate, and organize vital tax documentation and regulatory data.
Working within the fast-paced Capital Markets division, you will bridge the gap between complex regulatory requirements and seamless client experiences. This role is perfect for a professional who thrives on investigation, assessment, and high-stakes data integrity. You will report directly to the Director and play a key role in ensuring that all existing and new regulatory standards are met with precision and efficiency.
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Potential: High likelihood of extension based on project timelines; potential for permanent conversion to FTE.
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days on-site per week).
On-Site Requirements: Core day is every Wednesday in the Downtown Toronto office, with two additional days of your choice.

Responsibilities
In your role as Tax Associate – Regulatory Client Outreach, you will be responsible for:
• Campaign Management: Executing regulatory outreach to collect missing tax forms and documents for upcoming refresh deadlines.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with Compliance, Legal, and Tax Operations to resolve inaccuracies in the book of record systems.
• Data Integrity: Investigating and assessing complex client profiles to make timely decisions on regulatory reporting issues.
• Inquiry Resolution: Managing high-volume team inboxes, ensuring all internal and external inquiries are handled with professional excellence.
• Process Optimization: Identifying opportunities for automation and creating training materials/job aids for new tax workstreams.
• Mentorship: Transferring knowledge to junior colleagues and assisting in the development of best practices for the team.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
• Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in Regulatory Compliance, Tax Operations, or Client Onboarding within Capital Markets.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with domestic and foreign regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, CSA, EMIR, MiFID, CIRO/IIROC).
• Sector Expertise: Strong understanding of institutional clients, including Asset Managers, Insurance companies, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert-level use of the S&P Global (IHS Markit) portal for regulatory data access.
• Skills: Exceptional research, analysis, and documentation skills with a high degree of accuracy.
Nice to Haves:
• Broad FI Knowledge: Experience with Retail, Commercial, or Wealth Business clients within a financial institution.
• Data Management: Proficiency in advanced data management techniques and process mapping.
