      We are urgently seeking applications for the following role based in Whitecourt, ABOur client is a Fortune 500 company is is currently seeking an Artificial Lift Specialist - for a 12 month + Contractor roleThis is a 5/2 scheduled role with a rough split of time being 50% office and 50% field basedBusiness Planning and Administration• Support development of routine well work annual downhole budget• Work with downhole equipment vendors for quotes, potential changes/upgrades/modifications to existing downhole tools• Assist Technical Team with future well planning and downhole tool options to maintain production efficiency• Work with Competency and Training Advisor to develop, schedule, and facilitate Artificial Lift training courses for Operators, PEs, and relevant stakeholders• Take an active role in the development of AL work procedures/instructionProduction Operations• Provide support during start-up, troubleshooting, and subsurface intervention activities related to AL systems• Monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of artificial lift equipment and performance daily/hourly• Perform fluid level shots as required to ensure AL is optimized, and well performance aligns with business plan• Utilize computer programs for monitoring and optimization of all artificial lift and flowing wells. Including but not limited to: ClearSCADA, WonderWare, OSISoft PI, XSPOC, NetFlow• Provide 1:1 coaching for Production Ops and Horizons Engineers on surface and subsurface equipmentMaintenance• Provide preventative maintenance guidance including recommendations on subsurface critical spare parts and lube oils• Monitor reliability of AL surface rotating equipment• Enter CMMS work orders and MOC Functional Reviews as requiredHSE Compliance and Culture• Follow all tenants of Operational Excellence• Report unsafe conditions and concerns to applicable parties• Develop OE competency for safe execution of work• Adhere to all corporate HES regulations and guidelines• Take part in tailgate meetings on location, submit Near Misses, Stop-Work as required.Research, Analysis, Design, and Testing• Utilize real-time data trending and analysis to identify areas of opportunities to improve equipment performance and facility operation• Actively participate in the PSSR, deficiency list prep, and commissioning planning of upcoming artificial lift start-ups• Actively participate with FE, Wells, and Technical Teams on artificial lift design, project planning, construction, and improvement opportunities• Take an active role with Reliability Engineering etc. when reviewing systems for failure analysisThe Artificial Lift Specialist will be interacting with Operations and Engineering teams daily. The ideal candidate will have proven exposure and experience working with Artificial Lift Systems. This position will initially be a year-long contract but has the potential to extend or transition to a full-time role.Required Skills and Qualifications• Extensive hands-on experience with troubleshooting and optimizing Rod Pumping Units, Plunger Lift Systems, Gas Lift and Compression including GAPL, and Hydraulic Lift systems.• An Engineering Technologist Diploma or Engineering Degree with field experience is preferred.
