      We are seeking a Hardware Engineer for a key role with our high tech manufacturing clients Test group. The Hardware Test Engineer will play a key role in providing test system designs, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and internal/external user training to develop a robust, reliable test system infrastructure. Advantages-Excellent compensation and benefits-Company Shares -Opportunities for career advancementResponsibilities-Custom detector test platform design, integration and debugging.-Configuration, documentation, and set-up instructions to support the specific test systems provided to manufacturing.-Providing complete packages and work instructions suitable for use by production operators.-Maintain test systems and provide technical support for production.-Support manufacturing with the deployment of new detector test infrastructure and technology process transfer (from initial prototype to standard production). This includes:o Contribute to the scale-up and expansion of characterization and testing capabilities including automation and troubleshooting for various x-ray and gamma-ray applications.o Develop and debug test system software and firmware.o Design circuits and layout PCBs for production equipment.o Troubleshoot electronic circuitry using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.o Collect large amounts of data from the production database and summarize results in reports.o Assist in various material and device R&D experiments.Qualifications-Electrical or Computer Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience.-A solid understanding of general mixed-signal electronic circuitry, especially as it applies to embedded systems.-An aptitude for tracing through software algorithms to find bugs/bottlenecks and implement fixes/optimizations.-Experienced with Python and C++-Familiar with Matlab, Labview, and SQL-A strong grasp of object-oriented programming, GUI development, and data acquisition-Capable of hand soldering circuit boards, including fine pitch connectors and small (0402) surface mount components.-Experience with schematic capture and designing PCBs with Altium Designer is a must.-Comfortable with software tools such as JMP, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office suite.SummaryIf you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please forward your resume via email to Nick Paraskeva | nick.paraskeva@randstad.caRandstad Canada is committed to building a diverse workforce reflective of the diversity of Canada.
