      Your challenge!Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Financial Technician is tasked with performing a wide range of tasks related to the Finance department's activities. You are responsible for operational and transactional activities related to the execution of the accounting cycle’s main activities. You are the team's contact person for any technical question on payroll and must ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data integrated into the system. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, rigorous and a great team player. Your responsibilitiesPerform routine accounting operations such as journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner based on standardized processesConduct analysis of accounting items to ensure reliable and complete financial information and make necessary recommendations;Provide administrative support for weekly payroll processingMonitor and audit hours worked by hourly staff to ensure accuracy of the payroll calculations and take corrective actions as neededMaintain and update all payroll information and employees files up-to-date Provide detailed information to staff for specific payroll inquiriesCollect and enter data for various financial spreadsheetsPrepare timely and accurately monthly reports  Analyze and provide recommendation on perpetual and periodic inventories such as cut offs, controls and reconciliationsOrganize all accounting cycle activities with the greatest concern for efficiencyIdentify and report any irregularities and unusual transactions without delayAssist other departments as neededYour background and strengthsCollege degree in a related field is a great assetMinimum of 3 years' experience in a similar positionStrong Microsoft Excel skills specifically V-lookups, complex formulas and pivot tablesProblem solving mindset with high level of autonomyAbility to act and react quickly while working on several issues at the same timeCollaborative spirit needed to work effectively with all team membersKnowledge of the following software will be considered an asset; SAP, AS400, Antech, SuccessFactors, UltiPro#revealyourpotential  #LifeAtCascadesCascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
